Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lautaro Mancebo in the 21st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Richmond De Worteleere prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Joel Gaona hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Lautaro Mancebo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Richmond De Worteleere breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Facundo Cadaval hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. AC 1986 Vinalito's Artemio Matthew was substituted for Pichit Mercier. AC 1986 Vinalito's Severo Argi was substituted for Marcin Wietrzychowski.
