Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Maximiliano Escribano in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Cléber Marques prevented the ball from getting in the gole. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 24th minute of play forced Nevsehir JK's goalkeeper Cléber Marques to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Orestis Kamaras's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 26th minute of the game. The throw-in from Erik Paulista in the 43rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert. In the 47th match minute, Uruguay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jorge Sainz to maneuver through the defense.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The shot was stopped by Cléber Marques but with some difficulty. After some careless play in the Uruguay defense, Desiderio Oliveiro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. The Uruguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joaquin Gayoso should have stopped the shot. Nevsehir JK's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
