The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, POPULAR F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Alfredo Ferrant came free, but Sandro Paranaense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Igor Moura charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Igor Moura the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After some careless play in the Bolivia defense, Oscar Custódio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Camilo Freixa. The Bolivia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Camilo Freixa should have stopped the shot. After 11 minutes of play POPULAR F.C's Igor Moura was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Bolivia booed when POPULAR F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Moura didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 20th match minute, Bolivia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joshua Miralles to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of POPULAR F.C booed when Bolivia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Julio Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. 52 minutes into the match, POPULAR F.C's goalkeeper Sandro Paranaense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eduardo Fontirroig. Oscar Custódio might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Camilo Freixa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Oscar Custódio ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 59th minute, Julio Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joshua Miralles hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute Alfonso de la Cruz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Paranaense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, POPULAR F.C's Sandro Paranaense got control of the ball when Alfonso de la Cruz tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Emanuel Diniz came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the POPULAR F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Diniz couldn't finish the play. In the 81st minute Eduardo Fontirroig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandro Paranaense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfonso de la Cruz got free with Sandro Paranaense in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Eduardo Fontirroig could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Sandro Paranaense made a huge save. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
