Mike Robert struck a weak shot in the 4th minute. Jacobo Nores didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ARAPONGAS. Jacobo Nores didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mike Robert went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Hector Covarrubias might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manol Skarlatov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hector Covarrubias ran back to his position shaking his head. Jacobo Nores made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mike Robert in the 16th minute of play. When Xavier Zoido fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Paraguay's protests and gave Xavier Zoido a yellow card for diving instead. Jacobo Nores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mike Robert's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. 27 minutes into the game, Niels Eglin cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jacobo Nores was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jacobo Nores made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Riccardo Uttiger sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Mike Robert in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacobo Nores prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Niels Eglin's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Niels Eglin helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, ARAPONGAS's Niels Eglin got a free kick in the 34th minute. Hector Covarrubias hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute, Sebastian Striner hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sebastian Striner's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sebastian Striner helped the player get up and apologised. 43 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goal looked a bit too open when Mike Robert came free, but Jacobo Nores reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. ARAPONGAS were awarded a corner in the 45th minute after Paraguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Riccardo Uttiger took the corner. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jaime Pardo to strike the kick off in the second half. ARAPONGAS's Lucian Budulea was substituted for Jürgen Lessard. In the 58th minute of the game Riccardo Uttiger made a throw-in which Niels Eglin played forward. Mike Robert hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. ARAPONGAS made a substitution. Loic Beck replaced Larry Feiss. After 61 played minutes ARAPONGAS got a freekick which was hit by Mike Robert. 62 minutes into the match, ARAPONGAS's goalkeeper Manol Skarlatov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hector Covarrubias. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tibor Brandt during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mike Robert, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Jaime Pardo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manol Skarlatov having to make a save. In the 80th minute Mike Robert shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sebastian Striner hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. When ARAPONGAS's Loic Beck in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Paraguay's goalie prevented a goal. ARAPONGAS's Niels Eglin got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Loic Beck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hector Covarrubias's late challenge caught a ARAPONGAS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hector Covarrubias helped the player get up and apologised. Hector Covarrubias kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. In the 97th minute of the match ARAPONGAS got a corner. Paraguay's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Riccardo Uttiger ran over to the corner to take the kick. Riccardo Uttiger made a great header on ARAPONGAS's corner, it was just that Paraguay's Jacobo Nores managed to reach the ball for a save. Paraguay's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
