Axel Montenegro was slow to take the kick. During this time Colombia's players had a chance to rest. In the 17th minute Martin Mutumba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Mutumba in the 18th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Colombia's Kevin Mastache quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Hugo Eden, made in the 45th minute of the game. Abram Sarmiento scored 1-1 in the 46th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcus Ekrot, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

In the 50th match minute, Vykans Vikingar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abdi Revis to maneuver through the defense. Vykans Vikingar's Marcus Ekrot played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Montenegro in the 52nd minute of play. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 53 minutes play. Kevin Mastache hit a great ball. In the 62nd minute of the match Colombia got a corner. Vykans Vikingar's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Axel Montenegro ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Colombia's Kevin Mastache to a score. 1-2 in the 62nd minute. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernan Berart, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vykans Vikingar's Marcus Ekrot proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Vykans Vikingar from getting a goal against them. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martin Mutumba, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Vykans Vikingar lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
