In the 10th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. General Velásquez's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. At last the ball reached Agustín Saelices at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of General Velásquez. 0-1. Daniel Zorita made in the 24th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Felix Montenegro immediately put the ball in play. In the 25th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henry Tucknott saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 41 minutes into the match, Guntademaro Goyenechea notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 45thth minute of the game Daniel Zorita who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but General Velásquez's Henry Tucknott was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guntademaro Goyenechea was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Henry Tucknott was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. General Velásquez made a substitution. Teofan Bozadzhiyski replaced Marciano Gibson. After a rather tough play, General Velásquez's Guntademaro Goyenechea got a free kick in the 71st minute. General Velásquez's Martin Švácha was substituted for Gustav Tidéksson. After 72 played minutes General Velásquez got a freekick which was hit by Guntademaro Goyenechea. 74 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Luis Andino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Henry Tucknott narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A nice corner shot did that Cristian Sancho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Henry Tucknott quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Martin Švácha kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. A collision led to General Velásquez getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Renato Goycolea hit a great ball. Clemente Tuñon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The General Velásquez support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
