The corner went over the outstretched arms of Venezuela's goalie and right to André Törnqvist. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Venezuela's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Stig Axelsson during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Stig Axelsson hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Venezuela's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Edgar Albohm was slow to take the kick. During this time Woopbongo's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Edgar Albohm almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant did a great save. In the 19th minute Ola Håkansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Woopbongo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pär Rudqvist didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ola Håkansson in the 27th minute of the match. The Woopbongo fans' excitement grew in the 28th match minute when Woopbongo's Ola Håkansson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. In the 31st minute of the match Tomas Illescas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Valter Wallgren skillfully saved the ball. In the 47th minute, Ola Håkansson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ola Håkansson to strike the kick off in the second half. Valter Wallgren took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Patricio Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 59th minute, Ola Håkansson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Woopbongo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edgar Albohm in the 61st minute of play. In the 68th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guillermo Mariano to maneuver through the defense. After 71 minutes, Edgar Albohm mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Woopbongo and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 71st minute, Edgar Albohm hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Woopbongo's attentive André Törnqvist managed to snatch the ball when Guillermo Mariano made a throw-in in the 75th minute of the game. Pär Rudqvist charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pär Rudqvist the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Woopbongo getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Pär Rudqvist hit a great ball. In the 86th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Tomas Illescas hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. Ola Håkansson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ola Håkansson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st minute, Guillermo Mariano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Woopbongo had played much better football throughout.
