The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Basilio Casomiro during the 12th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to All Boys getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Basilio Casomiro hit a great ball. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by All Boys's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. After some careless play in the All Boys defense, Joel Gaona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mauro Montay. The All Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mauro Montay should have stopped the shot. After 22 minutes, Alberto Tafalla made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. All Boys's Mauro Montay tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 24th minute, Luca Rouco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 30th minute of play forced All Boys's goalkeeper Mauro Montay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lautaro Mancebo in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mauro Montay prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joel Gaona's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mauro Montay read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 35th minute of play forced All Boys's goalkeeper Mauro Montay to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the game, Joel Gaona cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Mauro Montay was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. Mauro Montay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 51st minute of play. The supporters of Mexico booed when All Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Filomeno Maule didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alberto Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mauro Montay having to interfere. Mauro Montay made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 62nd minute. In the 63rd minute of the match Mexico got a corner. All Boys's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that All Boys's Mauro Montay managed to reach the ball for a save. Serafin Toribio kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. All Boys made a substitution. Gabriel Isadore replaced Francisco Iztal. With a little luck, All Boys's Mauro Montay got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Mauro Montay made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 78th minute. In the 85th match minute, All Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filomeno Maule to maneuver through the defense. All Boys made a substitution. Nereo Acevedo replaced Nereo Pedroso. In the 86th match minute, All Boys was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Filomeno Maule to maneuver through the defense. Lautaro Mancebo came free with the goalkeeper in the 87th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mauro Montay could save by the left post. If Lautaro Mancebo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mauro Montay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 93rd minute of play. Mauro Montay was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Facundo Cadaval showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-6 in the 94 minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Mexico left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than All Boys.
