Henrik Nyman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Casaus, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. Chile's Thiago Pliego proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Chile from getting a goal against them. Henrik Nyman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 25th minute of play. Thiago Pliego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Noel Abraham's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. Chile's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Noel Abraham scored to the left of an out of position Thiago Pliego, making the score, 1-0. Diego Ronconi hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Noel Abraham in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Thiago Pliego saved Chile from getting behind. Francisco Carballar hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Noel Abraham came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th match minute, Artetas artilleri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glen Buxton to maneuver through the defense. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Mariano Lacasa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
