With a little luck, Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant got control of the ball when Mattin Solbeida tried to sneak it across the goal line. Rodolfo Anaya stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. 22 minutes into the game, Jose Correa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Tacheros OFF the free kick. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ramon Emeterio, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mattin Solbeida went, in the 63rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 72nd minute. Rodolfo Anaya didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. In the 74th minute, Mattin Solbeida left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tacheros OFF fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Alex Chicote lost his temper 82 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 82 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Venezuela! In the 86th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Patricio Costa to maneuver through the defense. Joona Peltomaa's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
