Tomas Viviano came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tomas Viviano showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 19th minute of the match. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tomas Viviano having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tomas Viviano narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 24 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Tomas Viviano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agustín Saelices went, in the 94th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-22 was the resulting score. The Defensores del Tiki Tiki fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
