In the 5th minute, one of Mexico:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mexico. 14 minutes into the game, Lorenzo Cazalla was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mexico's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave GoooooooooooooooooooooooL the free kick. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Lorenzo Cazalla got a free kick in the 14th minute. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristinel Patriciu in the 17th minute. Ioan Papadima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Facundo Cadaval, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 24thth minute of the game Lautaro Mancebo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Ioan Papadima was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ioan Papadima showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 25th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ioan Papadima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's Ioan Papadima. Ioan Papadima was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. In the 32nd minute, Virgil Agudaru hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ioan Papadima came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 36th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Alberto Tafalla kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. 43 minutes into the game, Luca Brădescu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexico the free kick. In the 43rd match minute, GoooooooooooooooooooooooL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Brădescu to maneuver through the defense. Dante Lacasa was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dumitru Bogătean showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 47 minute of play.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pavel Tăutu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dumitru Bogătean in the 51st minute of play. Ioan Papadima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. 60 minutes into the game, Alberto Tafalla cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Ioan Papadima was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ioan Papadima made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of GoooooooooooooooooooooooL booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Gaona didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 68 minutes, Dumitru Bogătean managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GoooooooooooooooooooooooL's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dumitru Bogătean was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 69th minute, Răzvan Gugulanu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Mancebo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Luca Rouco got a free kick in the 75th minute. If Luca Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Alberto Tafalla kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ioan Papadima. That made the score 2-4 in the 87 minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Virgil Agudaru during the 92nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 92nd match minute, GoooooooooooooooooooooooL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Virgil Agudaru to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a free kick in the 95th minute.
