Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lv Xiao Zhi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lv Xiao Zhi in the 18th minute of play. When Roncourt's Lv Xiao Zhi in the 20th minute got a chance for a shot 20th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. Brian Fumey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 23rd minute of the match. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lv Xiao Zhi ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Brian Fumey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 38 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brian Fumey narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 43 played minutes Roncourt got a freekick which was hit by Florent Blanc. Daniel Zorita didn't quite understand what happened when in the 45 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Horácio Larreta during the 52nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 52nd match minute, Roncourt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horácio Larreta to maneuver through the defense. Roncourt were awarded a corner in the 55th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Horácio Larreta took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Horácio Larreta got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lv Xiao Zhi in the 58th minute of play. In the 60th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. Roncourt made a substitution. Romuald Benaissa replaced Horácio Larreta. Roncourt's Léon Cailleaux was substituted for Lv Xiao Zhi. After 61 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Luis Andino. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 66th minute of the game Camilo Gisbert made a throw-in which Luis Andino played forward. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Léon Cailleaux in the 68th minute of the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Léon Cailleaux, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Léon Cailleaux's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Roncourt's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cleto Pomelov in the 73rd minute. A well-hit corner resulted in J.P. Kapar heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brian Fumey breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpected shot in the 83rd minute by Daniel Zorita got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Roncourt was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. J.P. Kapar didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd match minute, Roncourt was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thierry Lhermite to maneuver through the defense. In the 93rd minute Léon Cailleaux shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 95 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Brian Fumey made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. The Roncourt fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
