Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Gaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Abelardo Macías breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Yasin Saleh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 12th minute, Facundo Cadaval hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Abelardo Macías showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 14th minute. Bernardino Aguilo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Aparicio Ladra came free with the goalkeeper in the 19th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dante Lacasa could save by the left post. In the 20th minute Plaza Babys CF were awarded a corner. Aļģis Engers went to the cornerflag to take it. 22 minutes into the match, Plaza Babys CF's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Abelardo Macías reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Edward Golec was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 25 minutes into the match. Edward Golec kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 28th minute Lautaro Mancebo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abelardo Macías saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 28 minutes into the game, Lautaro Mancebo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Abelardo Macías was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Aparicio Ladra was the one to do the kick off. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aparicio Ladra in the 53rd minute of play. Plaza Babys CF's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Aļģis Engers in the 59th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Mexico's goalie and right to Bernardino Aguilo. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Mexico's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aparicio Ladra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aparicio Ladra in the 63rd minute of the match. Abelardo Macías made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. Plaza Babys CF's Pio Checa was substituted for Roi Morales. After 73 played minutes Plaza Babys CF got a freekick which was hit by Yvon Fabelo. The crowd rose to their feet as Lautaro Mancebo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Abelardo Macías. That made the score 0-3 in the 78 minute of play. When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Abelardo Macías was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Joel Gaona capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Joel Gaona really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bo Kristiansson in the 87th minute of play. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 89th minute. Abelardo Macías didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. 93 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Bo Kristiansson came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mexico eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
