Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elliott Drake in the 43rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th minute Stream Sponsoren were awarded a corner. Rasmus Ljungberg went to the cornerflag to take it. Rasmus Ljungberg made a great header on Stream Sponsoren's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Cristian Sancho scored 1-3 in the 53rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Birger Påk, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Birger Påk having to interfere. After 75 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Zorita. Birger Påk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 77th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Elliott Drake stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Elliott Drake tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 81stth minute of the game Aktan Sara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aktan Sara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Birger Påk tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Birger Påk made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 91st minute. Daniel Zorita in the 92ndth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Birger Påk, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save.
