In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Descamisados CF's goalkeeper Lawrence Lawless, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Răica, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute of the match Descamisados CF got a corner. Peru's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. In the 21stth minute of the game Julian Murillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Descamisados CF's Lawrence Lawless was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Julian Murillo sped through Descamisados CF's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lawrence Lawless. Julian Murillo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lawrence Lawless read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 26th minute of play. With a little luck, Peru's Rolando Noboa got control of the ball when Jairo Baraquiel tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lawrence Lawless showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jairo Baraquiel was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Peru defense, Adrian Txartiko kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. The Peru fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rolando Noboa should have stopped the shot.
