Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Marco van Nistelrooij got the match started through his kick off. Alan Moruga hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Astor Senio in the 8th minute of the match. In the 8th minute, Astor Senio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 12 minutes into the match, Axel Tasis notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Caricancha's Amado Gamus. Amado Gamus was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Alexander Carballo got a free kick in the 14th minute. After 15 played minutes Caricancha got a freekick which was hit by Erasmo Caetano. Jorge Bermudez hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. 21 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Astor Senio. Fermin Precioso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Astor Senio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco van Nistelrooij in the 41st minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Juan Rubio during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fermin Precioso had several of the Costa Rica's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 47 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-1 score and a disappointed Benito Sanz as he didn't even see the shot coming. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-1 at half-time.

The wind increased when Axel Tasis made the kick off in the second half. Fermin Precioso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 52nd minute of play. After 54 minutes Costa Rica's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Astor Senio who took care of the corner kick. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Abel Carballo hit a great ball. Caricancha made a substitution. Clinton Mata replaced Jorge Bermudez. The supporters of Caricancha booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Caricancha's Zheng Chao Bing was substituted for Joel Artaldo. Caricancha's Astor Senio got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Marco van Nistelrooij took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-1. When Wang Jun Wei came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Caricancha fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wang Jun Wei couldn't finish the play. When Eliseo Noboa came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Costa Rica fans jumped to their feet. In the 88th minute Zheng Chao Bing shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Caricancha's Fermin Precioso. But to his dismay, Fermin Precioso quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-1. Lautaro Puig hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. 96 minutes into the match, Marco van Nistelrooij had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marco van Nistelrooij was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-1.
