The throw-in from Arturo Carvallo in the 6th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Paralia Athens's Agostinho Moura. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 8th minute of play forced Paralia Athens's goalkeeper Doru Apostu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 9th match minute, Paralia Athens was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Tomozei to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 10th minute of play forced Paralia Athens's goalkeeper Doru Apostu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Doru Apostu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 18th minute of the match. Doru Apostu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maximiliano Escribano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Alberto Gisbert hit a great ball. Doru Apostu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Gisbert, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 32nd minute, Maximiliano Escribano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Doru Apostu was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Teodor Romeo hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francisco Seco in the 36th minute of play forced Paralia Athens's goalkeeper Doru Apostu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doru Apostu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Uruguay booed when Paralia Athens was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Tomozei didn't get a good kick on the ball. Doru Apostu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francisco Seco in the 44th minute of the match. After the first half Uruguay were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Leonard Chirculescu made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Paralia Athens's goalkeeper Doru Apostu had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Francisco Seco. In the 53rd minute, Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. In the 58th play minute Camilo Franco came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Doru Apostu. 0-3. The throw-in from Agostinho Moura in the 63rd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo. Leonard Chirculescu struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Joaquin Gayoso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paralia Athens. In the 72ndth minute of the game Leonard Chirculescu who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Maximiliano Escribano's late challenge caught a Paralia Athens's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maximiliano Escribano helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Paralia Athens booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Maximiliano Escribano didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Leonard Chirculescu came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Paralia Athens fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonard Chirculescu couldn't finish the play. Jaime Cazalla received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Doru Apostu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Doru Apostu made a fantastic save in the 87th minute, when Maximiliano Escribano sent off a good shot on target. In the 88th minute, Leonard Chirculescu made a precise shot to the right of Joaquin Gayoso. Uruguay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. After having played for 92 minutes, Francisco Seco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Uruguay's supporters crossed their fingers, but Francisco Seco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Uruguay's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Jaime Cazalla in the 99th minute. The Paralia Athens fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Uruguay were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
