If Eduardo Fontirroig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tadeusz Dec took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mario Fernandino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 33 minutes, Benedykt Madej mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wicher Wilchwy Come Back and the Bolivia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Benedykt Madej kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. Eduardo Fontirroig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Korneliusz Opat to make the kick off. When Alfonso de la Cruz came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Bolivia fans jumped to their feet. When Francisco Gallo fell near the penalty area in the 91st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bolivia's protests and gave Francisco Gallo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 91st minute, Francisco Gallo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Eduardo Fontirroig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
