In the 6th minute Qu Wei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Proteu's 毛明昆. But to his dismay, 毛明昆 quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 15 minutes into the match, Proteu's 毛明昆 sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ricardo Zorita narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 17 played minutes Proteu got a freekick which was hit by Gernando Nunes. After 18 played minutes, El Salvador's Mateo Leguizamo shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Edvin van der Sar came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in El Salvador reached it. The audience thought a goal was coming when 毛明昆 got free with Ricardo Zorita in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Proteu's 毛明昆 got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 31 minutes into the match, Proteu's Qu Wei sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ricardo Zorita narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A hard shot 33 in the game by 毛明昆 from a close distance when the talented Ricardo Zorita managed to make a qualified save. El Salvador's players were relieved. Qu Wei fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. Ricardo Zorita was out of position in the 37 minute of play, and Qu Wei capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Qu Wei really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. Jesus Carvallo charged in rather forcefully in the 43rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jesus Carvallo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Valentino Ferrant hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell 毛明昆 to make the kick off. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tercero Segundo in the 55th minute of play. Proteu were awarded a corner in the 56th minute after El Salvador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tercero Segundo took the corner. A nice corner shot did that 毛明昆 got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ricardo Zorita quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The audience was convinced that 毛明昆's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardo Zorita was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Hílton Vasconcelos charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hílton Vasconcelos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Hílton Vasconcelos kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. El Salvador's Mateo Leguizamo shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 61st minute of play. The shot was stopped by Edvin van der Sar but with some difficulty. 63 minutes into the game, Proteu's 毛明昆 nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ricardo Zorita made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Qu Wei in the 66th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 67 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when 毛明昆 came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Qu Wei kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. In the 73rd minute, Qu Wei left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Proteu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. After some careless play in the El Salvador defense, 毛明昆 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ricardo Zorita. The El Salvador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ricardo Zorita should have stopped the shot. El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Qu Wei in the 87th minute of play. Archie Ares was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. If Jorge Magrina had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
