After a rather tough play, Panama's Felipe Ros got a free kick in the 40th minute. Marcos Cotilla was a little too slow when Aurelio Lando got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 43rd minute. The score was now 2-0. 45 minutes into the game, Jose Carita was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marcos Cotilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 86 minutes into the match, Aurelio Lando had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aurelio Lando was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0.
