Reynaldo Stephen showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. In the 3rd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Stephen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Evelio Pes struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Club Sportivo Italiano. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Jonathan Venegas hit a great ball. When Club Sportivo Italiano's Evelio Pes in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Evelio Pes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 11th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Reynaldo Stephen saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 11 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Reynaldo Stephen made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Venezuela were awarded a corner in the 15th minute after Club Sportivo Italiano's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Tomas Illescas took the corner. The supporters of Club Sportivo Italiano booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Correa didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 26 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Patricio Costa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Reynaldo Stephen having to make a save. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evelio Pes, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 37th minute, when Evelio Pes scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 1-1. 41 minutes into the game, Tomas Illescas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club Sportivo Italiano the free kick. In the 41st minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 43rd minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Theo Hayles sent off a good shot on target. Tomas Illescas kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. In the 54thth minute of the game Theo Hayles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 59 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Reynaldo Stephen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Evelio Pes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 65th minute of play. Luisito Bikendi, 67 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Wilhelm Steinitz's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Wilhelm Steinitz helped the player get up and apologised. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Theo Hayles in the 72nd minute of the match. A collision led to Club Sportivo Italiano getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Rogelio Claris hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Evelio Pes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Evelio Pes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Evelio Pes in the 79th minute of play. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Sportivo Italiano's Evelio Pes. But to his dismay, Evelio Pes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Evelio Pes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evelio Pes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute Theo Hayles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 93rd play minutes Evelio Pes shot 3-1, a short shot which went by Jonathan Ferrant and just under the crossbar into goal. Club Sportivo Italiano walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
