In the 4th minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torgny Landin in the 5th minute of the match. In the 9th minute, Boca Juniors's Torgny Landin ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. Torgny Landin might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Manzanares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Torgny Landin ran back to his position shaking his head. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Torgny Landin in the 17th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedro Manzanares saved Colombia from getting behind. The Boca Juniors fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Boca Juniors's Torgny Landin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 28 minutes into the match, Axel Montenegro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jens-Åke Källberg. Boca Juniors's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Axel Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After 34 minutes Colombia's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Özkan Kayaer who took care of the corner kick. Özkan Kayaer made a great header on Boca Juniors's corner, it was just that Colombia's Pedro Manzanares managed to reach the ball for a save. 36 minutes into the game, Colombia's Kevin Mastache nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jens-Åke Källberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. Jens-Åke Källberg showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Torgny Landin. In the 48th minute, Orlando Tafalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Torgny Landin to make the kick off. Jens-Åke Källberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pascual Carballar in the 54th minute of play. When Boca Juniors's Torgny Landin in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Colombia's goalie prevented a goal. Pedro Manzanares showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Torgny Landin in the 59th minute of the match. Niklas Kjellberg hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. Torgny Landin took the ball and in the 65 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedro Manzanares. Pedro Manzanares dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. Torgny Landin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Manzanares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 69th minute of play. If Jan Höijer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 75th minute, Torgny Landin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Boca Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. Boca Juniors's Harry Hedling was substituted for Dimitris Panagiotakis. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torgny Landin in the 81st minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Greger Bratt hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ignacio Mastache in the 84th minute of play forced Boca Juniors's goalkeeper Jens-Åke Källberg to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 86 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Kevin Mastache came free, but Jens-Åke Källberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jens-Åke Källberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Mastache in the 86th minute of play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Boca Juniors fully deserved thier win.
