With a little luck, Temperley's Pedro Eudoxio got control of the ball when Isidoro Sarmiento tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gualterio Lopez in the 86th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle sounded Panama left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Temperley.
