Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joel Cristofor prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Deportivo Kadorna's Joel Cristofor played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 27th minute of play. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Norberto Tiadoro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 2-1 in the 33 minute of play. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Joel Cristofor tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Norberto Tiadoro received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Rigoberto Mina kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. Horacio Petrigai was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 47th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Deportivo Kadorna fully deserved thier win.
