With his leg Ricardo Zorita managed to avoid a goal in the 12thth minute, when SEGAFREDO CF's Nuno Ávila fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 14 minutes into the game, Homero Cerqueira cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ricardo Zorita was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The wind increased when Homero Cerqueira made the kick off in the second half. Jesus Carvallo hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Homero Cerqueira's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ricardo Zorita was relentless in the 56th minute of the game. In the 74th minute, Ilídio Neves made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo Zorita. El Salvador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Ricardo Zorita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Ávila in the 78th minute of play. In the 85th minute Homero Cerqueira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Zorita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 86 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goal looked a bit too open when Homero Cerqueira came free, but Ricardo Zorita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Alcino Santiago stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Alcino Santiago tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 91 minutes, Moises Fernandino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Salvador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Fernandino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Marius Søndenå made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Moises Fernandino sent off a good shot on target. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. SEGAFREDO CF fully deserved thier win.
