Manuel Campens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedicto Naelio in the 12th minute of the match. Lev Yashin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mbaka Mbolu in the 14th minute. Lev Yashin made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Mbaka Mbolu sent off a good shot on target. In the 16th minute, Benedicto Naelio ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Manuel Campens was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 22 minutes into the match, Argentina's Benedicto Naelio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manuel Campens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Belgium's attentive Joel Wigghers managed to snatch the ball when Ceferino Nalo made a throw-in in the 24th minute of the game. After 24 played minutes Argentina got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Nevada. If Mbaka Mbolu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Lev Yashin made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mbaka Mbolu in the 26th minute. Manuel Campens showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Benedicto Naelio in the 28th minute of the match. Benedicto Naelio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Campens having to interfere. After some careless play in the Belgium defense, Benedicto Naelio kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Manuel Campens. The Belgium fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manuel Campens should have stopped the shot. In the 38th minute, Benedicto Naelio left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Argentina fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 46 minutes into the match, Argentina's goalkeeper Lev Yashin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mbaka Mbolu. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benedicto Naelio to make the kick off. Manuel Campens didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fausto Santana went, in the 56th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Armando Felipillo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Belgium getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Rafik Oliwa hit a great ball. Amado Arotzas short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Manuel Campens to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Manuel Campens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gogo Gabrio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 84 minutes of play, Belgium's Mbaka Mbolu made it 2-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lev Yashin was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Amado Arotza took a quick shot and it went in 2-5 without a chance for Manuel Campens to make any attempt to save it. The Belgium supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Argentina's performance. The match ended with a win for Argentina.
