The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Paraguay defense, Célio Fontes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jacobo Nores. The Paraguay fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jacobo Nores should have stopped the shot. In the 14thth minute of the game Lobo Zornoza who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paraguay's Jacobo Nores was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 16th minute Célio Fontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Célio Fontes in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jacobo Nores prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 18th minute, Célio Fontes made a precise shot to the right of Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Paraguay's Jaime Pardo got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jacobo Nores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Célio Fontes's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. In the 25th minute, CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE's Célio Fontes ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jacobo Nores. Jacobo Nores yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 5-0. Célio Fontes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 29thth minute, Jacobo Nores skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Nae Buteanu took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Jacobo Nores. Paraguay's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jacobo Nores made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Célio Fontes sent off a good shot on target. In the 33rd match minute, CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amado Froila to maneuver through the defense. 35 minutes into the game, CUITEENSE FUTEBOL CLUBE's Lobo Zornoza nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacobo Nores made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-0. Célio Fontes blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jacobo Nores having to make a save. Juvenal Sergipano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jaime Pardo went, in the 41st minute, to the upper right corner, 6-1 was the resulting score. Jacobo Nores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Célio Fontes's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-1 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Célio Fontes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lobo Zornoza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jaime Pardo in the 55thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Juvenal Sergipano, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Célio Fontes in the 70th minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jacobo Nores showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lobo Zornoza, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. After 80 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Pardo. After a defensive mix-up in Paraguay's zone, Kiko Tande stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jacobo Nores came out of the goal and Kiko Tande tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 86th minute, Alan Campos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alan Campos kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Lobo Zornoza managed to get in a good position for a shot.
