Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmondo Gervasi in the 3rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abel Carballo during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 3 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Abel Carballo. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. After having played for 16 minutes, Edmondo Gervasi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sconvols United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmondo Gervasi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Florian Vinci fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Sconvols United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willian Siqueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sconvols United's Ennio Costanzo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 21st minute of play. A hard shot 30 in the game by Edmondo Gervasi from a close distance when the talented Benito Sanz managed to make a qualified save. Costa Rica's players were relieved. When Edmondo Gervasi came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Sconvols United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmondo Gervasi couldn't finish the play. In the 40th minute, Cristoforo Daniele hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmondo Gervasi got free with Benito Sanz in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristoforo Daniele fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Edmondo Gervasi struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sconvols United. The crowd rose to their feet as Eliseo Noboa kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Ennio Costanzo. That made the score 1-1 in the 62 minute of play. In the 64th minute, Shingo Aoi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th minute, Willian Siqueira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ennio Costanzo having to interfere. 78 minutes into the match, Edmondo Gervasi had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edmondo Gervasi was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. Sconvols United's Ennio Costanzo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Axel Tasis in the 82nd minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sconvols United had won after a very even match.
