Udinese was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessio Zoccali didn't get a good kick on the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Abram Sarmiento notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili. Alvaro Rotili was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Corrado Falasca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 10 minutes into the match, Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Corrado Falasca. Axel Montenegro hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Alexander Bottone tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Alexander Bottone kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Pedro Manzanares. That made the score 1-1 in the 11 minute of play. Alexander Bottone might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Pedro Manzanares. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alexander Bottone ran back to his position shaking his head. With a little luck, Colombia's Pedro Manzanares got control of the ball when Alexander Bottone tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 18th minute, Alexander Bottone made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Manzanares. Colombia's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alexander Bottone in the 22nd minute of play. A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 24th minute of play. Alvaro Rotili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Abram Sarmiento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Colombia's supporters rose to their feet, but Abram Sarmiento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alvaro Rotili breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alexander Bottone, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Axel Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Pedro Manzanares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Olivér Bierhoff in the 40th minute of play. Orlando Tafalla kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. 45 minutes into the match, Axel Montenegro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alvaro Rotili. A.S. Udinese's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Axel Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexander Bottone to make the kick off. After having played for 53 minutes, Axel Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Colombia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Axel Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Samuel Navarro kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. A collision led to Colombia getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Samuel Navarro hit a great ball. In the 61st minute Corrado Falasca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, A.S. Udinese's Alvaro Rotili got control of the ball when Axel Montenegro tried to sneak it across the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, A.S. Udinese's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Sarmiento came free, but Alvaro Rotili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 69 minutes of play, Colombia's Abram Sarmiento made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alvaro Rotili was left in no man's land by his defense there! Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. A.S. Udinese made a substitution. Ercole Fiorentino replaced Alexander Bottone. Colombia made a substitution. Abram Secada replaced Axel Montenegro. Ignacio Mastache recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 77 minutes, Ercole Fiorentino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. A.S. Udinese's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ercole Fiorentino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Colombia's Abram Secada slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alvaro Rotili. That made the score 2-4 after 79 minutes of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ercole Fiorentino in the 82nd minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Augusto Clemente made a great header on A.S. Udinese's corner, it was just that Colombia's Pedro Manzanares managed to reach the ball for a save. Corrado Falasca's late challenge caught a Colombia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Corrado Falasca helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, A.S. Udinese's Corrado Falasca got a free kick in the 91st minute. Dino Pozzoli charged in rather forcefully in the 93rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dino Pozzoli the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Dino Pozzoli hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The Colombia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Colombia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
