After 2 minutes, Benjamin De Wulf mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Selebi-Phikwe and the Curacao players grew even worse after the yellow card. Benjamin De Wulf kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. Marshall Graham hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 6th minute, Pieterjan Valckeneers made a precise shot to the right of Bruno Barrett. Curacao's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Curacao's Bruno Barrett proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Curacao from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Kurt Van Hove kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Bruno Barrett. That made the score 2-0 in the 16 minute of play. The audience was convinced that Benjamin De Wulf's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruno Barrett was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. After 23 played minutes Curacao got a freekick which was hit by Charles Cox. A hard shot by Pieterjan Valckeneers from long distance, 23 minutes into the match, got Bruno Barrett's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kyle Davies in the 27th minute of play forced Selebi-Phikwe's goalkeeper Tommi Ooms to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruno Barrett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pieterjan Valckeneers, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. When Rocco Owen came up free with the goalie in the 37th minute, the Curacao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rocco Owen couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd minute Benjamin De Wulf shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Barrett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Troy Kennedy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Tommi Ooms tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 47th minute, Kurt Van Hove reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Bruno Barrett. The goal made the score 3-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kyle Davies stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Bruno Barrett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benjamin De Wulf, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benjamin De Wulf in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruno Barrett saved Curacao from getting behind. 70 minutes into the match, Curacao's goal looked a bit too open when Anthony Labrouche came free, but Bruno Barrett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pieterjan Valckeneers received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Bruno Barrett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 74 minutes of play, Selebi-Phikwe's Benjamin De Wulf made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bruno Barrett was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Benjamin De Wulf had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cederik Worteleers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Barrett having to interfere. 80 minutes into the game, Selebi-Phikwe's Benjamin De Wulf nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bruno Barrett made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. Cederik Worteleers fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Barrett having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Curacao's Troy Kennedy got a free kick in the 87th minute. In the 90th match minute, Selebi-Phikwe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Glenn Cortens to maneuver through the defense. If Troy Kennedy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 96th match minute, Curacao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Charles Cox to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Pieterjan Valckeneers managed to get in a good position for a shot. Selebi-Phikwe's supporters rose to their feet, but Pieterjan Valckeneers was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruno Barrett breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
