When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Julian Murillo made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teofilo Garrote in the 58th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nacho Gonzalez stood somewhat misplaced when Rafael Gallo came free in front of goal and shot 1-4 to the left of him in the 89 minute. Nacho Gonzalez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rafael Gallo in the 96th minute. The El Gallo de Moron fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Peru were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
