The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Jose Correa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Henter Somosd the free kick. In the 4th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Gerardo McMillan was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 5th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Tamás Antal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Teodosio Lawrence received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Frank Mees kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jonathan Ferrant. That made the score 1-0 in the 10 minute of play. Venezuela's defense didn't have a chance, in the 15th minute, when Frank Mees scored to the left of an out of position Jonathan Ferrant, making the score, 2-0. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ziemowit Tylinski in the 18th minute of play. In the 21st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Gerardo McMillan sent off a good shot on target. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Frank Mees took a quick shot and it went in 3-0 without a chance for Jonathan Ferrant to make any attempt to save it. In the 28th minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Mees got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Frank Mees managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Henter Somosd's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Mees was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Frank Mees had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Frank Mees received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Frank Mees slotted it home off the left post making it 4-0 in the 40th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frank Mees made a kick off. Flávio de Castro made in the 52nd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Frank Mees immediately put the ball in play. Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Frank Mees went, in the 61st minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. FC Henter Somosd made a substitution. Bart van Goetsenhoven replaced Arnd Schade. Wilian Baptista kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. 70 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Tamás Antal came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Patricio Costa hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. If Tamás Antal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. FC Henter Somosd's Ulises Ugaitz was substituted for Tamás Antal. In the 79th minute, Flávio de Castro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frank Mees recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 84th minute, Joshua Secada hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FC Henter Somosd's Frank Mees got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 92nd minute, Ulises Ugaitz made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. When the match clock showed 95 minutes, the score became 7-0 when Ulises Ugaitz sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant.
