Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Eugenio Bernal got the match started through his kick off. Eugenio Bernal might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eugenio Bernal ran back to his position shaking his head. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugenio Bernal in the 3rd minute of play. Didi Papardelas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Didi Papardelas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 8th minute of the match. In the 8th match minute, Piquirenda FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benigno Claus to maneuver through the defense. In the 14th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Didi Papardelas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eugenio Bernal didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-0 via right post in the game's 27th minute. Piquirenda FC's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! 31 minutes into the match, Piquirenda FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Didi Papardelas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 34 minutes, Camilo Gisbert mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ecuador and the Piquirenda FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Camilo Gisbert hit a great ball. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 43 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Eugenio Bernal came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Didi Papardelas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eugenio Bernal blasted a shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Eugenio Bernal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 64th minute Piquirenda FC were awarded a corner. Roberto Iratze went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Piquirenda FC's corner Roberto Iratze fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Julio Vera quite easily take care of the ball. 67 minutes into the match, Piquirenda FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Didi Papardelas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Roberto Iratze was slow to take the kick. During this time Piquirenda FC's players had a chance to rest. A very nice done corner allowed Olgierd Bator to score against Julio Vera in Ecuador's goal. 3-0 after 70 minutes. Piquirenda FC made a substitution. Cayetano Lluciano replaced Severiano Ibañez. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Antonio Arias during the 79th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Roberto Iratze recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Piquirenda FC's Jilian Oosters was substituted for Roberto Iratze. In the 87thth minute of the game Cayetano Lluciano who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jilian Oosters received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Piquirenda FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antonio Arias didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Piquirenda FC support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
