Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tomas Illescas got the match started through his kick off. Quentin Gonzalez had several of the Venezuela's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 4 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Jonathan Ferrant as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Atlético Maravilla's Zarando Lastras played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 8th minute of play. Aniceto Campello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Quentin Gonzalez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Dionisio Hidalgo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Maravilla's supporters rose to their feet, but Dionisio Hidalgo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Atlético Maravilla booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. 47 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Atlético Maravilla's Zarando Lastras. Zarando Lastras was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Quentin Gonzalez made a kick off. Quentin Gonzalez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 61st minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Quentin Gonzalez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dionisio Hidalgo took the ball and in the 66 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Atlético Maravilla made a substitution. Anders Söderlund replaced Herminio March. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Atlético Maravilla was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rudolph Grieve didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Zarando Lastras tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 77th minute. When Aniceto Campello came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Atlético Maravilla fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Aniceto Campello couldn't finish the play. Tomas Illescas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Leopoldo de Queiroz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. Dionisio Hidalgo struck a weak shot in the 86th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Maravilla. 93 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Quentin Gonzalez came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 94 minutes Venezuela's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Quentin Gonzalez who took care of the corner kick. Atlético Maravilla walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
