Jucunditas's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Thomas Bergfelt in the 8th minute. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bruno Gemar having to interfere. Ecuador's Luis Andino got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Frank Pasin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 20thth minute tested the skills of Julio Vera when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After 22 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Antonio Arias. 23 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Thomas Bergfelt came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jucunditas's Bruno Gemar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 26th minute of play. After some careless play in the Jucunditas defense, Agustín Saelices kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Bruno Gemar. The Jucunditas fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Bruno Gemar should have stopped the shot. In the 40th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. Jucunditas's Davide Cremonese got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Jucunditas booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jucunditas's Bruno Gemar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 47th minute of play.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Frank Pasin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Bruno Gemar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 53rd minute of play. In the 59th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Agustín Saelices's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bruno Gemar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davide Cremonese in the 72nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cristian Sancho succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 73rd playminute. In the 79thth minute of the game Davide Cremonese who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 80 played minutes Jucunditas got a freekick which was hit by Elia Frasca. If Frank Pasin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Bruno Gemar was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davide Cremonese in the 87th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Jucunditas fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
