Camilo Covarrubias charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Covarrubias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Jucunditas booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Covarrubias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frank Pasin who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Joaquin Gayoso when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Francisco Seco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Davide Cremonese's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. When Francisco Seco came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Seco couldn't finish the play. In the 63rdth minute of the game Frank Pasin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to Jucunditas getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Elia Frasca hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Davide Cremonese in the 74th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquin Gayoso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Frank Pasin in the 76th minute of play. In the 77th minute, Carter Di Fazio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Davide Cremonese's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Joaquin Gayoso was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Davide Cremonese, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. For all the effort they put into the match, the Uruguay players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Jucunditas.
