The audience thought a goal was coming when Guter Tobia got free with Dante Lacasa in the 7th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 12thth minute of the game Alberto Tafalla who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aves Negras's Marcial Bakar was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 16th minute, Joel Gaona left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Marcial Bakar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 20th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Alberto Tafalla left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. Humberto Urtsin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. 37 minutes into the game, Guter Tobia recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Dante Lacasa. Guter Tobia showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-3. Leonardo Leoz hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Aves Negras's Marcial Bakar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 43rd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Guter Tobia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and Guter Tobia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aves Negras's Clarence Seedorf was substituted for Humberto Urtsin. Disappointed in the 2-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Guter Tobia to strike the kick off in the second half. Aves Negras's Jurand Banas managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Macos Graciani in the 53 minute of the game. Guter Tobia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Aves Negras's Marcial Bakar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 57th minute of play. 58 minutes into the match, Aves Negras's Guter Tobia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Lacasa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 63rd minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcial Bakar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guter Tobia scored 3-3 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 76 minutes, Efrain Artal put it in 4-3 from a short distance just to the right of Dante Lacasa. 82 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Efrain Artal came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 85 minutes in the game Macos Graciani did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Joel Gaona. A collision led to Aves Negras getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Clarence Seedorf hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 95th minute of play forced Aves Negras's goalkeeper Marcial Bakar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 97 minutes into the game, Facundo Cadaval cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-4. Marcial Bakar was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mexico's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Aves Negras had won, even though Mexico had held more of the ball.
