Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Joaquim Paredes kicked off to start the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 14th minute of play forced Gremio Viana's goalkeeper Samuel Fiúza to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 17 minutes in the game Felix Luque did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Lautaro Mancebo. Gremio Viana's Amado Melo quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leonardo Leoz, made in the 23rd minute of the game. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Joaquim Paredes in the 24th minute. Mexico's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Joaquim Paredes 24 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. In the 31st match minute, Gremio Viana was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tony Påk to maneuver through the defense. 34 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joaquim Paredes. With a little luck, Mexico's Dante Lacasa got control of the ball when Joaquim Paredes tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gremio Viana's Tony Påk got a good chance for a goal in the 47th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joel Gaona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Mariusz Lamczyk hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Gremio Viana's Samuel Fiúza got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Alberto Tafalla's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Samuel Fiúza firmly grabbed it by the left post. Joaquim Paredes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquim Paredes in the 67th minute of play. Joaquim Paredes hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Gremio Viana's Antonio Calisto was substituted for Tony Påk. 75 minutes into the game, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Samuel Fiúza made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Alberto Tafalla was extremely unlucky when he, in the 81st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Mohamed Ali Bomba's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mohamed Ali Bomba helped the player get up and apologised. Carlos Luna took the ball and in the 85 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 88 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Carlos Luna came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 90th minute, Mohamed Ali Bomba hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Gremio Viana support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
