Matthew Garrido hit a great ball. 5 minutes into the game, Tomas Berganza cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Benjamin Venceslas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Benjamin Venceslas came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Panama's Tomas Berganza. But to his dismay, Tomas Berganza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. 11 minutes into the match, Esteve Herrera dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Marcos Cotilla, 1-2. In the 14th minute, Lanús's Roberto Puch seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Roberto Puch the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Lanús protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Roberto Puch had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to Lanús getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Roberto Puch hit a great ball. After having played for 15 minutes, Abraham Alguacil managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abraham Alguacil was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 18th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento made a precise shot to the right of Benjamin Venceslas. Lanús's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Lanús's Benjamin Venceslas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 23rd minute of play. Panama's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Abraham Alguacil in the 26th minute. The corner led Panama's Abraham Alguacil to a score. 1-4 in the 27th minute. After 35 minutes of play, Panama's Tomas Berganza made it 1-5 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benjamin Venceslas was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 39th minute, Tomas Berganza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benjamin Venceslas was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-6. The crowd rose to their feet as Lanús's Jake Hursey slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Marcos Cotilla. That made the score 2-6 after 43 minutes of play. The Lanús players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Panama were winning 2-6.
The wind increased when Eloy Gaskon made the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, Ladislao Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eloy Gaskon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benjamin Venceslas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. 72 minutes into the game, Isidoro Sarmiento recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benjamin Venceslas. Isidoro Sarmiento showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-7. After 74 played minutes Panama got a freekick which was hit by Abraham Alguacil. In the 76th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Cambeiro to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Chien-Kwan in the 77th minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 80 minutes into the game, Felipe Ros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Panama's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lanús the free kick. Lanús's Ladislao Barros quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Jose Carita, made in the 82nd minute of the game. 82 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Ladislao Barros came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jake Hursey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 86 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Eloy Gaskon came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Lanús's Jonathan Chien-Kwan got a free kick in the 88th minute. Matt Le Tissier kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Miguel Miralles hit a great ball. Benjamin Venceslas came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Panama's Abraham Alguacil. But to his dismay, Abraham Alguacil quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-8. Panama played a much better game than Lanús and deserved their victory. The Lanús players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
