Lautaro Navarro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Belchior Ribas went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. In the 20th minute, Edmundo Espiga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Honduras fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 31st match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Villa to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Academia Monte Gordo getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Di Maria hit a great ball. 37 minutes into the game, José Paulo Afonso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Academia Monte Gordo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Honduras the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Belchior Ribas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Academia Monte Gordo's supporters rose to their feet, but Belchior Ribas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lautaro Navarro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 48 played minutes Academia Monte Gordo got a freekick which was hit by Francisco Morata. In the 49th minute of the match Edmundo Espiga sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mateus Teves skillfully saved the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Edmundo Espiga got free with Mateus Teves in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. António Mendes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 57 played minutes Academia Monte Gordo got a freekick which was hit by Flávio Anjos. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sebastian Villa during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sebastian Villa hit a great freekick 60 minutes into the match. When António Mendes came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Academia Monte Gordo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that António Mendes couldn't finish the play. Francisco Morata got a throw-in 71 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Flávio Anjos. Honduras's attentive Esteban Carvallo managed to snatch the ball when Flávio Anjos made a throw-in in the 76th minute of the game. With a little luck, Academia Monte Gordo's Mateus Teves got control of the ball when Edmundo Espiga tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 84 minutes of play Academia Monte Gordo's José Paulo Afonso was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Honduras booed when Academia Monte Gordo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Paulo Afonso didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Academia Monte Gordo's Belchior Ribas got a free kick in the 86th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Academia Monte Gordo's zone, Milagros Cabal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Mateus Teves came out of the goal and Milagros Cabal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 90 minutes, Moises Tafalla managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honduras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Moises Tafalla was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Belchior Ribas hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. 94 minutes into the match, Academia Monte Gordo's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but Mateus Teves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute António Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lautaro Navarro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Honduras's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Academia Monte Gordo had won, even though Honduras had held more of the ball.
