Spectators: 50 (Terracing: 38, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 1) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Xu Yun Quan started the match with the kick off. Joaquin Gayoso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Kerry Sellers went, in the 7th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Uruguay's attentive Arturo Carvallo managed to snatch the ball when Erberk Müftüoğlu made a throw-in in the 12th minute of the game. Arturo Carvallo's late challenge caught a C. A. Independiente's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arturo Carvallo helped the player get up and apologised. Arturo Carvallo kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kerry Sellers in the 13th minute of play. Kerry Sellers spun around in front of the goal 17 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Uruguay's goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kerry Sellers in the 20th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arturo Carvallo was shown his second yellow card after 21 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Arturo Carvallo got a free kick in the 22nd minute. When Kerry Sellers came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the C. A. Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kerry Sellers couldn't finish the play. Kerry Sellers blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquin Gayoso having to make a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kerry Sellers in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Joaquin Gayoso prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal in the 29th minute to try and stop a shot by C. A. Independiente's Kerry Sellers. But to his dismay, Kerry Sellers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Sid Chadwick fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. Joaquin Gayoso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kerry Sellers, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. C. A. Independiente were awarded a corner in the 35th minute after Uruguay's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Eric Snowden took the corner. After taking down the ball on C. A. Independiente's corner Eric Snowden fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Joaquin Gayoso quite easily take care of the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as C. A. Independiente's Kerry Sellers slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Joaquin Gayoso. That made the score 4-0 after 37 minutes of play. Kerry Sellers scored 5-0 in the 40th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Joaquin Gayoso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The supporters of C. A. Independiente booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Franco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kerry Sellers in the 52nd minute of the match. Kerry Sellers might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joaquin Gayoso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kerry Sellers ran back to his position shaking his head. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sid Chadwick in the 54th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Xu Yun Quan managed to get in a good position for a shot. C. A. Independiente's supporters rose to their feet, but Xu Yun Quan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Gayoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The crowd rose to their feet as Francisco Seco kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Farid Mondragón. That made the score 6-1 in the 61 minute of play. With a little luck, C. A. Independiente's Farid Mondragón got control of the ball when Francisco Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Xu Yun Quan in the 68th minute of play forced Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Kerry Sellers came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Farid Mondragón made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Francisco Seco sent off a good shot on target. Kerry Sellers's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kerry Sellers's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. When C. A. Independiente's Xu Yun Quan in the 82nd minute got a chance for a shot 82nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Uruguay's goalie prevented a goal. Farid Mondragón showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Alfredo Felder received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Xu Yun Quan's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, Kerry Sellers notched a goal, 7-1, to the right of Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso. Joaquin Gayoso was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. C. A. Independiente had won after a very even match.
