Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Horaţiu Măcrinici made the kick off which started today's match. In the 48th minute there was a penalty for Nova Iguaçu MZFC. Luiz Fábio de Medeiros stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Benito Sanz. 8-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 8-0 at half-time.

Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 53rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Horaţiu Măcrinici kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Horaţiu Măcrinici in the 59th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Abel Carballo hit a great ball. After having played for 62 minutes, Horaţiu Măcrinici managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Horaţiu Măcrinici was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 67th minute Horaţiu Măcrinici shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. But to his dismay, Ödön Zsinka quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 10-0. Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Horaţiu Măcrinici got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ladislao Gerazan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The corner led Nova Iguaçu MZFC's Edu Vaz to fire away a dangerous shot which Benito Sanz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ladislao Gerazan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
