Leon Dzierwa hit a great ball. 6 minutes into the game, Kraig Fred recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Pedro Manzanares. Kraig Fred showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 8th minute Cornelio Ruisko shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cornelio Ruisko in the 8th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, Estudiantes de América's goal looked a bit too open when Axel Montenegro came free, but Marcos Ranolfo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Abram Sarmiento in the 15th minute of play. Colombia's Kevin Mastache quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Prospero Gabirel, made in the 17th minute of the game. Axel Montenegro took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Marcos Ranolfo. Marcos Ranolfo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Kevin Mastache got a free kick in the 24th minute. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kraig Fred, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 27 minutes in the game, Kraig Fred dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Marcos Ranolfo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Abram Sarmiento's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. After 31 played minutes Estudiantes de América got a freekick which was hit by Korneliusz Miodek. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes de América's zone, Axel Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Ranolfo came out of the goal and Axel Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 34 minutes into the match, Axel Montenegro notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Estudiantes de América's Marcos Ranolfo. Marcos Ranolfo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kraig Fred in the 37th minute of play. When Kraig Fred came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Estudiantes de América fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kraig Fred couldn't finish the play. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abram Sarmiento in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Marcos Ranolfo saved Estudiantes de América from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.
A sloppy throw-in by Kraig Fred in the 52nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Colombia's Pascual Carballar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kraig Fred in the 54th minute of play forced Colombia's goalkeeper Pedro Manzanares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Colombia's Antonio Indiano got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute Concetto Trasatti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedro Manzanares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pedro Manzanares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Cordarrel, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Traian Blăniță in the 65th minute of play. Colombia's Abram Secada was substituted for Axel Montenegro. Colombia's Ignacio Mastache was substituted for Abram Sarmiento. After 71 played minutes Estudiantes de América got a freekick which was hit by Prospero Gabirel. Ignacio Mastache received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Marcos Ranolfo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Estudiantes de América's Leon Dzierwa got a free kick in the 76th minute. In the 79th minute, Korneliusz Miodek got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Joel Cordarrel kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. Concetto Trasatti sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Manzanares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Traian Blăniță, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Colombia's attentive Abram Secada managed to snatch the ball when Traian Blăniță made a throw-in in the 88th minute of the game. In the 93rd minute, Concetto Trasatti ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedro Manzanares was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. Karl Van Der Veecken kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match.
