Carmine Berardi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ab Surdo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Carmine Berardi managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Duisburg 2012's supporters rose to their feet, but Carmine Berardi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 22nd minute, Tombolo Wa Kadima De Reckheim ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The crowd rose to their feet as SC Duisburg 2012's Carmine Berardi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 2-0 after 26 minutes of play. Tombolo Wa Kadima De Reckheim could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. Ab Surdo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Carmine Berardi scored 3-0 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Tombolo Wa Kadima De Reckheim who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Benito Sanz when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Tombolo Wa Kadima De Reckheims short, quick shot in the 40thth minute got Benito Sanz to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Alexander Carballo fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Alexander Carballo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of SC Duisburg 2012 booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexander Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carmine Berardi in the 44th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Axel Tasis was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, SC Duisburg 2012's Andy Neeskens nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. In the 57th minute, Carmine Berardi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Carmine Berardi went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. If Ab Surdo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 64 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Ab Surdo came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 65th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Tasis to maneuver through the defense. 66 minutes into the match, Tombolo Wa Kadima De Reckheim notched a goal, 7-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The SC Duisburg 2012 fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when SC Duisburg 2012's Tombolo Wa Kadima De Reckheim looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 8-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Tombolo Wa Kadima De Reckheim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that SC Duisburg 2012 were the better team. SC Duisburg 2012's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
