Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) When Ladislao Bartoleme came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Jabones Tocadores fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ladislao Bartoleme couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Jabones Tocadores's zone, Isidoro Sarmiento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alípio Torres came out of the goal and Isidoro Sarmiento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Orlando Mena kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Marcos Cotilla. That made the score 1-0 in the 14 minute of play. In the 16th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Matthew Garrido to maneuver through the defense. Alípio Torres made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Isidoro Sarmiento in the 23rd minute of play. Orlando Mena sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Jabones Tocadores's Fernando Maule got a free kick in the 29th minute. Marcos Cotilla was a little too slow when Orlando Mena got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 33rd minute. The score was now 4-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Isidoro Sarmiento managed to get in a good position for a shot. Panama's supporters rose to their feet, but Isidoro Sarmiento was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alípio Torres breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Marcos Cotilla was out of position in the 42 minute of play, and Orlando Mena capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Orlando Mena really showed his touch with that goal: 5-0. In the 47th minute, Jabones Tocadores's Orlando Mena ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Marcos Cotilla. Marcos Cotilla yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 6-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 6-0 at half-time.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Berganza to strike the kick off in the second half. Jabones Tocadores's Ladislao Bartoleme got a good chance for a goal in the 57th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Orlando Mena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Orlando Mena, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Orlando Mena in the 67th minute of play. 68 minutes into the game, Jabones Tocadores's Orlando Mena nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. If Orlando Mena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 78thth minute of the game Orlando Mena who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panama's Marcos Cotilla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal in the 82nd minute to try and stop a shot by Jabones Tocadores's Orlando Mena. But to his dismay, Orlando Mena quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ladislao Bartoleme in the 84th minute of play. Orlando Mena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Marcos Cotilla having to make a save. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlando Mena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marcos Cotilla didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Jabones Tocadores. Jabones Tocadores's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
