Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Joel Gaona in the 10th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fulvio Gabriele prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 11th minute, Dino Marcolongo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 12th minute of the match Joel Gaona shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Fulvio Gabriele showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Concetto Foni fell near the penalty area in the 13th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Aquile Azzurre's protests and gave Concetto Foni a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in FC Aquile Azzurre's zone, Joel Gaona stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fulvio Gabriele came out of the goal and Joel Gaona tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Joel Gaona in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fulvio Gabriele saved FC Aquile Azzurre from getting behind. The supporters of FC Aquile Azzurre booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Leoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Joel Gaona managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mexico's supporters rose to their feet, but Joel Gaona was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fulvio Gabriele breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mexico played a much better game than FC Aquile Azzurre and deserved their victory. The FC Aquile Azzurre players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
