The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 24th match minute, FC SASA ILIC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sadettin Tunçkol to maneuver through the defense. İlyas Tolga Baykır made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebastian Villa in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg İlyas Tolga Baykır saved FC SASA ILIC from getting behind. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Edmundo Espiga in the 42nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck İlyas Tolga Baykır prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sebastian Villa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. İlyas Tolga Baykır tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sadettin Tunçkol to strike the kick off in the second half. After 53 minutes of play, FC SASA ILIC's Sadettin Tunçkol made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lautaro Navarro was left in no man's land by his defense there! İlyas Tolga Baykır made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sebastian Villa in the 59th minute. In the 61st minute, Ömer Rıza Özbek hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Moises Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without İlyas Tolga Baykır having to interfere. When the match clock showed 64 minutes, the score became 2-3 when Edmundo Espiga sped through FC SASA ILIC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of İlyas Tolga Baykır. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ömer Rıza Özbek during the 67th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC SASA ILIC getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Ömer Rıza Özbek hit a great ball. If Edmundo Espiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sebastian Villa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without İlyas Tolga Baykır having to interfere. With a little luck, FC SASA ILIC's İlyas Tolga Baykır got control of the ball when Edmundo Espiga tried to sneak it across the goal line. When Edmundo Espiga came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Honduras fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edmundo Espiga couldn't finish the play. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC SASA ILIC's goalkeeper İlyas Tolga Baykır, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 87 minutes into the match, FC SASA ILIC's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Espiga came free, but İlyas Tolga Baykır reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ömer Rıza Özbek got a throw-in 90 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Baki İlbilge. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baki İlbilge in the 93rd minute of play. If Edmundo Espiga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Honduras supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Honduras would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
