But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edward Mcdonald couldn't finish the play. Per-Åke Lundberg kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. 11 minutes into the match, USA's goalkeeper Marco Day had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Torgny Landin. Jens-Åke Källberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Monty Rogers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jens-Åke Källberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cassius Byrne in the 21st minute of play. In the 22nd minute of the match USA got a corner. Boca Juniors's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cassius Byrne ran over to the corner to take the kick. USA's Diego Bradley was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jens-Åke Källberg in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After a rather tough play, USA's Monty Rogers got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 28th minute, Edvard Dusett hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Cassius Byrne came free, but Jens-Åke Källberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. USA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cassius Byrne in the 30th minute. USA's Zach Harrison was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jens-Åke Källberg in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 37 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Edward Mcdonald came free, but Jens-Åke Källberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marco Day was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Oscar Lindholm capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Oscar Lindholm really showed his touch with that goal: 1-3. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cassius Byrne made a kick off. Cassius Byrne who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 51stth minute tested the skills of Jens-Åke Källberg when he managed to save the team from getting behind. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Torgny Landin in the 53rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Torgny Landin in the 55th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 61st minute the ball was on its way in behind USA's goalkeeper Marco Day, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar Lindholm in the 67th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 71 played minutes USA got a freekick which was hit by Zach Harrison. Boca Juniors's Jan Höijer was substituted for Özkan Kayaer. Boca Juniors made a substitution. Harry Hedling replaced Dimitris Panagiotakis. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. Sam Campbell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jens-Åke Källberg having to interfere. USA's Khalid Parry was substituted for Monty Rogers. The Boca Juniors fans' excitement grew in the 82nd match minute when Boca Juniors's Torgny Landin looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-3 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oscar Lindholm, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sam Campbell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Jens-Åke Källberg made a huge save. The Boca Juniors fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. USA were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
