In the 4th minute, Almir Lago had to leave the field with a concussion. Camilo Gaos's late challenge caught a Thunderstorm Riders's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Camilo Gaos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 9th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. Thunderstorm Riders's Jerzy Mielak shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 10th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Jonathan Ferrant but with some difficulty. 11 minutes into the game, Koti Kot cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Remigiusz Kasprzak received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Thunderstorm Riders's Jerzy Mielak was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jonathan Ferrant in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Thunderstorm Riders's Arkadiusz Barciniak played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 39th minute of play. After 41 minutes, Koti Kot made it 3-0 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Konrad Resel in the 44th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.
